Today, I joined to the torch relay and I felt frustrated, I beat a rowdy protester. Far from my homeland, the exiled Dalailama cliques and anti-China protesters sabotaged the torch relay over countries, they took advantage of the media attention to play their shows to the world. I and my classmates standing along-side the spectators, holding the Olympic flaglets, felt shameful on them.
The most violent scene happened in between the Eiffel tower and Seine River, the torch bearer was a disabled young Chinese girl on her wheelchair with two guards on each side. Every 5 seconds, there were some protesters rushing up to grab the torch from her and it happened so soon that the guards could not completely protect her. She--- I remembered her name was Jin Jing, had to hold the torch in her arms and protect it from the mob. Right in front of me, I could not believe that guy dragged her arm and punched her on the back, for the God sake, she is just a disable young girl! My entire mind went blank and I ran over and hit that bastard with my camera, that guy was bigger than me, so he tried to fight back when finally the police arrived and got him into custody. At the moment, I saw the torch girl raised up her face with tears in her eyes, showed her bright smile to the people and moved on her wheelchair with the torch. I felt sorry for this unarmed young girl, I felt sorry for all she was going through. This was supposed to be the most special day for her, but ruined by those idiot protesters.
It is so ironic that when those protesters punched the innocent girl, they could still hypocritically raise the banner of “human rights and liberty”. Where is the human right for this torch girl? What kind of liberty do they want? Free of murder? As what they did in Tibet in March this year?
I was disappointed with what happened here, in Paris on April 7, 2008.
